Midterms are OVER! :D

These tests really took a toll out of me, despite the fact that I studied hard (but not hard enough, sadly) and there's an organization event next week. It won't be as hectic as the midterm week though, because I don't need to study for the event! HAHA!

By the way, one of the things that makes me feel good after a week of painful heartbreaks due to those tests is watching a collection of funny videos like this:

(I don't own the video, it's from RayWilliamJohnson, go check him out! =3)
Enjoy and have a great weekend! :D

Highlight of Last Week: THE GREAT AMERICAN CIRCUS. ^___^

THE GREAT AMERICAN CIRCUUUUUSSSS! :D

The only circuses I've ever seen were from TV shows and mostly the people in there would end up in a suicide or a murder... I would never have imagined that I could watch a real-life circus in front of my own two eyes! The presentations were so amazing that just looking back at the pictures made me still in awe of their greatness.

Just outside the Cebu Coliseum, I can already see how many people came just to watch this once-in-a-blue-moon experience. It started later than the expected time due to the number of people waiting outside just to watch it. Just by entering the place, you would see a lot of things around like the souvenir shop where all the items on sale are actually pricey. I was just shocked when I found out that the shirt actually cost P500!

Despite the amazement of the whole thing, I still have favorites and the worst part of the circus. Here they are:

FAVORITES
WHEEL OF DEATH:
Seriously, I was absolutely astonished by what the Valencia brothers did, especially the one who walked outside his circle blindfolded! It was breathtaking to look at them because seeing them do it is already scary, how much more if you were actually there.

Imagine the picture you see on the left, and multiply that by around 50 and that's how big it is. I'm not really sure with that though. Hehe. The picture doesn't clearly show it, but the guy on the top is the one who is blindfolded! DUN DUN DUN! Can you imagine yourself there? I think NOT! :))

CROSSBOW MASTERS:
This husband-and-wife pair have been married for 32 years and they still managed to put up a very spectacular spectacle with the crossbows. They did a very amazing stunt in which they got a Guiness World Record! AMAZING, isn't it? It was a life-and-death situation and the only way they could get out of it was through shooting the arrow precisely. UHH-MAZING! :D

THE WORST PART sadly, is the Michael Jackson Tribute. Not only the guy who sang didn't even compare to the King of Pop, but he looked like he had an overdose of makeup. Due to that, I never took a picture of him. (It really bummed out A LOT of Michael Jackson fans because it was too silent.

Overall, I really LOVED this. I never regretted going here and woke up the next morning with a headache due to lack of sleep. IT WAS WORTH IT. ^____^

Advice for Sinulog...

Since the festivities have started and the procession will happen tomorrow, and this will all lead to the Grand Parade this Sunday, I have advice for first-timers who would want to go there:

  • Know about what the celebration is: HERE
  • ALWAYS BRING WATER. Don't think that you wouldn't do this because it would be a cool accomplishment or you're used to not drinking water for extended periods of time. IT IS A LIFE-SAVER and people usually faint because of dehydration.
  • If it's a necessity, BRING IT; else DON'T EVEN PLAN TO BRING IT. There will be MORE pickpockets than usual this weekend, especially in the procession and the parade. Be careful with your belongings.
  • TRY OUT THE FOOD. Food's EVERYWHERE on the grand parade. It's nice to try them all out.
  • TAKE PICTURES. It's a given, so make sure you capture every single moment with a camera and remember the memories of this wonderful celebration.
  • HAVE FUN. This one's self-explanatory.
Here you go, some tips on how to enjoy Sinulog to the fullest. It still depends on how you celebrate it.

Have a Happy Sinulog Weekend, guys. ^__^

BUSY-ness Indeed.

Yesterday was almost kinda relaxed! I didn't realize that in.ana ra diay to ang test gahapon. The day was seemingly gloomy as I entered the room with a bit of nervousness when I finally realized it was not as hard as I thought it would be. (since easy = hard in our teacher's case. LOL) The day was just getting better since we really didn't do much until the end of the day.

TODAY though was such a GREAT hassle though because we had THREE tests! Each one is harder than the other! The good thing though that the first test we had was easier than the rest. I might fail the second test I took (which was full of terms) but I really hope I don't. After this, it would be a breeze...

SINULOG's almost here! PARTY PARTY! ^___^

Do You Still Read A Book?

WOAH.
I never really read books much before. They keep on boring me to who knows what. There were a lot of things I realized a lot of things while reading my File Organization book because I had to read it for purposes of understanding the topic that my group and I will report to class. Anyway, back to books.

Lately, when most of us would want to look for information about a certain issue or research about a topic for a report, we would usually go to the internet to search for it and POOF, there it is. Whenever we stare at a book, we tend to get too lazy especially if the report is made the night before the assigned day. I say that we shouldn't make internet a very reliable resource because most of them aren't really verified. Books have so many information that the internet may have missed despite the updates they put in their source. They may be old, but no school is better than old school. ^^

So, try reading a book and maybe learn something new once in a while.

An Exhibit of Sto. NiƱo

How appropriate. The title coincides with the fact that the Sinulog festival, which is an annual celebration of the Feast of Sr. Sto. NiƱo, is just 1 week ahead. (smiles)

When I was strolling around Ayala with my beloved family, we came across an exhibit displaying the various kinds of images of Sto. NiƱo around that area. It was so amazing that there are people who have shown their devotion this way and show it to the public.

Here are some of the pics I took when I was looking around:

One of the traditional images of Sto. NiƱo

This one was giant, honestly.

The Child Jesus, with his mother Mary.

This one really caught my eye...
They gave me a realization that each one of us has his/her own way of showing devotion and honor to someone important. (HONOR and PRAISE are two different things, in case you misinterpret)

1 WEEK to SINULOG! Yes Yes Yes! I'm actually excited for the day after more. (laughs)

Sinulog Festival 101

Here comes the time again for people to flood Cebu City's streets with the colorful costumes of the dancers, photographers taking their best shot either for fun or for proving their worth. There are also people who go there just to have a good time and enjoy the view of the streets.

In case you have NO IDEA what the festival's about, here are quick info:

  • The Sinulog Festival is an annual celebration held in the heart of Cebu City, known as the Queen City of the South.
  • The festival is in honor of the child Jesus, Sr. Sto. NiƱo and shows the Cebuano's Islamic and pagan origins and its acceptance of Roman Catholicism.
  • It is held every third Sunday of January. (in 2011, it's on the 16th)
  • A loyal devotee usually attends the Novena Masses that happens 10 days before the Mardi Gras. (in 2011, it started last Jan. 6)
  • It is one of the busiest times of the city as everyone prepares for this great event in which about 8 million+ people attended last year. (corrected, see link HERE)
If you know this, then you have the basics of what the festival is. For more details, go to http://www.sinulog.ph/. Hope you would consider going here and come celebrate this festive season with us. ^_^

To God be the Glory!

/* T3 OuT LoUd */ is now I. AM. LIANIXX.

I have now decided to change the name of this blog since this will be more than just the trials in my life but all the happy things, thus it is now named:

I. AM. LIANIXX.

Yes, it will now be known as this. Don't worry, all posts that were here before the name change is still here.

This is somewhat a new perspective to how I blog.

Hope you guys will love it. ^_^

This Week's Pleasure, Next Week's Pain

This week has been really a cheerful one, despite the fact that the teachers started bombarding assignments and quizzes at us in the start of the first week of school in 2011. I was actually on a brain reboot. Nothing changed much, except the fact that I'm currently applying everything that I've learned last year and hope things don't go really bad. The worst thing that happened this week is about that OLD MAN who really ticks people off especially because he blames us even though it's kinda his fault for not making things simple. Sheesh. If only that subject was easy. I'll just do my best to study this, otherwise I'm screwed. :c

Speaking of getting screwed, next week's gonna be VERY tiring for me because of the overload of tests that we're about to have. I just hope that The Great American Circus would calm me down for at least a bit. Even though it's just for one test, it's a major subject. Actually, no, it's a MAJOR MAJOR subject. (LOL @ funny reference) Sometimes, I get a little nervous at tests like these and I really hope to pass them.

What a pressure.

Oh well. I'll find that out when it happens. GOOD LUCK.

Trending Videos of MY Day (01.04.2011)

I just watched a few videos that made my day and hopefully it would make your day too. ^^

So basically, this video is short, but is really a fail. Weird face HERE. HAHAHA.

It's six seconds long, but it will be worth your while. :D

YouTube channel: HERE

Another one is a video series about a blender that blends anything, and I mean ANYTHING. Right now, the guy is now blending a Chrome Notebook. This gives evidence that everything used in the Chrome OS is just in "The Cloud". It makes you think that you wished you'd just get that. O_O

More info on Chrome Notebook: HERE
Will it Blend? Channel: HERE

The last video is about a kid, but this is NO ordinary kid. This kid ALWAYS says NO, I mean literally. Just watch this. Shocking for me, actually.

My source for some of these funny videos is from this show called =3 (Equals Three). This series is from a guy who reviews funny videos and ones that are just lacking. It's made by Ray William Johnson and you can check his latest video HERE and go to his channel and subscribe HERE!

That's all the videos I found for today, 'til the next time. ^_^

Bring in the New Year! :D

I never really made anything productive during 2010. I've been thinking about it and I now know that I should really get busy if I want to get away from laziness because it's really killing me. I will do my best to be a busy person and not get lazy but may want to get some rest at some point. Here are some things that I may want to do this 2011:

  • Improve this blog of mine, and maybe change its name since I think I'm starting to not like it anymore. Maybe include a login system for some contests or whatnot, hopefully I can get this done.
  • Practice programming more often than I should, and do better in my studies. That said, I may not post so many posts over the remainder of this semester.
  • Apply all that I've learned in making a functional website for an organization that will effectively complement its current events and activities.
  • Learn more things through a lot of experiences that enable me to see the bad in me and change it.
That seems like a lot of things but hopefully it would work out and I can do these things.

GET AWAY FROM ME LAZINESS!

New Moneyyyy! :D

I know, I know. I may seem like a braggart here, but I really can't help it! I was just shocked to see one of these just chilling in my mom's wallet 2 days ago when she gave us one bill each.

I was so ecstatic when I got this but honestly, I thought this bill was like "play money". I am proud though, to own one of these AWE...

wait for it...SOME bills. (LOL)

Short post for now since brain is preparing for school days again. Few posts again... 'Til the next post. ^^

The First Post of 2011. ^_^

Hahahaha. And I thought I'd post in the morning. I couldn't wait, so I made a post now. ^_^

My expectations of 2011:
  • The President of the Philippines not just saying change but DOING it. I don't want him to be like Obama which may lose his re-election due to some of his shortcomings.
  • Subjects not being a pain in the butt because that's the only reason why I feel discouraged to go to school in the first place. FRIENDS > SUBJECTS. (LOL.)
  • Sun Cellular's network strength is improved. Call quality is still BAD. Everyone will be happy if this happens.
  • China should be calmer with the Philippines now. They shouldn't bear all that pain that happened last year (which was yesterday). It's too much.
That's basically it for me. Who knows what can happen in 2011? Enjoy the new year, everyone. ^_^
